THE THREE REALMS BEGIN

At the beginning of the cosmos, the Divine Realm, the Spirit Beast Realm and the Human Realm of Eldana came into being. To preserve their rule, the ancient gods bound the three worlds into an order of those who consume and those who are consumed.

Spiritual energy cannot appear from nothing, nor can it vanish. It passes between lives, affinities and worlds. The Divine Realm sustains itself with energy taken from the Spirit Beast Realm; the Spirit Beast Realm, in turn, draws life from the Human Realm. Humanity stands at the lowest link in the chain.

The long history of the Three Realms turns on one question: can a chain written into the foundation of the world ever be broken?
